An ultra rare and possibly a one off Iona silver jewellery box by Alexander Ritchie, hallmarked in Chester in 1912. The lid is made in a pewter gray colour and is gilded on the inside, there is a green velvet lining to the box. A full set of Chester hallmarks and a stunning representation of a Viking long ship with Iona church in the background. The design was inspired by the celtic and Viking carvings on Iona. Alexander and Euphemia Ritchie worked on Iona till their demise in 1941. Their mark was registered at the Chester assay office in 1910. A very rare opportunity to own an amazing piece of Iona silver.
