Woodbridge Antiques has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
On the back of the spoon are the very clear and crisp hallmarks for the London Assay office with a date mark for 1853, Lion Passant indicating the finest sterling silver and the silver maker's mark: George Adams.

A super spoon with all kinds of uses - wonderful to enhance a dressed dining table setting and very practical. Would make a great wedding gift, or for any occasion!
