A Magnificent Edwardian Sampson Morden Large Silver Cigar Box

A fabulous Edwardian table silver cigar/cigarette box of stylish design and made by the great name of Sampson Morden & Co. The box is rectangular in shape, with extended corners. The box retains the original cedar wood interior, with the removable/adjustable central divider - enabling use for cigars. The lid and sides are decorated with panels of stylish engine turned decoration. There are elegant acanthus panels to the corners and a large vacant cartouche to the centre top. Inside the lid is fully gilded. An outstanding, elegant and practical piece, with a number of alternative uses. Dimensions below.
