Woodbridge Antiques has dated this piece to the 1930s.
The egg cup has an empty rectangular cartouche and the spoon a round cartouche, giving the option to have them engraved with initials if desired. A light gilt wash gives the egg cup interior a warm glow. Clear hallmarks and maker's marks are visible on the egg cup Birmingham 1930 and, on the back of the spoon handle, Birmingham 1931, with the makers marks for Barker Brothers Silver Ltd.

This lovely set comes in a black leatherette case with brass fastener. When opened the inside top of the box is lined in cream satin and the base is a deep black velvet
Condition: Both the egg cup and the spoon are in excellent used condition. The case is also in good used condition, with just some light rubbing to the edges, and the satin liner has become a little discoloured, all commensurate with age. The brass fastener works perfectly.
