Antique Zircon 9ct Gold Amethyst Drop Earrings

Chunky deep purple amethysts and sparkling white zircons mounted in decorative nine-carat gold basket settings. Zircons, not to be confused with cubic zirconia, mostly originate from Sri Lanka and have been appreciated for centuries for their diamond-like fiery brilliance.

• Condition: Excellent antique condition.

• Stamps/hallmarks: "9CT" stamped on the screw back.

• Fixing: Threaded posts and screw backs for pierced ears.

• Era: Estimated late Victorian-Edwardian.

• Size: 3cm long. The amethysts measure approximately 11 x 13mm and the zircons 5mm across.

• Weight: 6.4g.
