Rare Large 58g Sterling Silver Submarine Depot Vesta Case 1901 Chester Military

1900 - 1920
Description

A very interesting and rare English antique solid sterling silver left handed vesta case. It is hallmarked for Chester 1901 with the makers mark being that of H M Emanuel & Son of Portsea Hampshire. It has been superbly designed being engraved with a presentation inscription 'SUBMARINE DEPOT SPORTS'. It is in good condition being free from splits holes and repairs, there are a few small knocks to one corner - see final photo. It works perfectly with a strong mechanism. It measures over 2 inches (5.3cm) tall by the same wide and weighs 60 grams. A very high quality interesting example.
