A wonderful example of a Victorian silver card tray, highly decorative; a fine quality piece in a classic mid Victorian style. It is a solid three footed card tray, with a curved edge decorated with scrolls and motifs. The tray surface is engraved with six floral cartouches, and the centre is plain without signature, making this a most desirable and versatile tray. This silver tray would make a very fine centrepiece for a hall or dining table or a wonderful wedding gift. Hallmarks show the lion passant for sterling and makers marks for London 1857, with makers marks for Edward and John Barnard. The tray is in very good antique condition, with just a few surface marks, commensurate with age, and some wear to the tips of two feet.
