This unusual quality round Victorian kettle dates from 1850 in the English Country House style. The piece is formed from brass with a warm gold polished finish, complemented by a turned brown glass handle grip on the swing handle. Particular decorative details include a gooseneck spout, a stepped lift-off lid topped with a central finial, and three small ball feet supporting the rounded body. The kettle measures 21 cm high, 20 cm wide, and 26 cm deep. In a contemporary home, this item provides decorative character when displayed on a kitchen island. The polished brass surface reflects light, while the amber glass handle and turned finial add tactile contrast. The tripod configuration lifts the rounded base above surfaces, making the piece suitable for placement as a traditional decorative accent within a kitchen or living space.

Victorian brass kettles were produced during the nineteenth century, featuring polished brass bodies, gooseneck spouts, heat-resistant handles made of turned wood or glass, and circular or oval forms designed for fireside or stove heating.

These kettles were primarily constructed from sheet brass or copper with brazed seams, featuring turned brass, horn, or glass handle grips and cast brass feet designed to limit heat transfer.

Authentic examples often display hand-brazed side or bottom seams, slight hand-hammering variations, dovetailed joins, and genuine interior oxidisation or patina within unpolished recesses.

An antique brass kettle can be displayed on a kitchen island, mantelpiece, or rustic sideboard to introduce warm metal tones and historical texture to contemporary or traditional spaces.

Dust metal surfaces regularly with a soft cloth and apply specialized metal polish sparingly to the exterior, taking care to avoid harsh chemicals that could strip aged patina or damage delicate glass components.
