Description

A Stunning Quality Marquetry Inlaid Cylinder Bureau By Maple & Co Of London. The brass balustrade gallery above the well figured mahogany super structure which has two fantastic marquetry and pen-work panels, one on the cylinder front and one to the sloping writing surface which opens automatically when the frieze drawer is opened, to allow access to a well fitted interior and writing surface. Supported on square tapering supports with spade feet united by a shaped under tier. Stamped Maple & Co to the drawer. English circa 1890-1900
