It was listed by Marylebone Antiques. Sold pieces stay on Sellingantiques as a record of what has passed through, and the next one is rarely far away.
Marylebone Antiques has dated this piece to the Edwardian era.
Original satinwood items like these are quite rare & sought after. This one has original brass handles, ebony inlay & tapered spade end feet. It also still has a top back gallery, which often go missing. Inside the tambour is a practical interior which has a tooled leather top pull out writing surface. I think the best feature on this bureau is the finely painted scene on the cylinder.
