Victorian Rosewood Chiffonier Attributed to Gillows

Description

A fine quality early Victorian rosewood chiffonier in the manner of Gillows, beautifully figured throughout and enriched with ebony and brass inlay. The frieze drawer is decorated with an intricate brass inlaid band, above a pair of silk-lined glazed cupboard doors flanked by brass-capped Corinthian columns.

Raised on turned and reeded legs with brass castors and finished with a parcel-gilt gadrooned base, this elegant chiffonier offers excellent storage while displaying the refined craftsmanship and classical styling associated with some of the finest cabinet makers of the period.
