Why Sellingantiques dated this piece to THE 19TH CENTURY:
Heart-shaped riveted handle plate: standard English coppersmithing of the George III and IV eras.
Brazed seams along body and spout: hand assembly before industrial deep drawing.
Heat darkening and oxidation across the underside: many years of hearth use.
Cast brass acorn finial on stepped lid: Georgian metalwork detail.

This is an independent date report produced by Sellingantiques using its own proprietary system. The process uses the photographs shown on this page. The system is never told the date the dealer has declared. This report shows that the two dates corroborate.

An early 19th-century Georgian coffee pot takes form in copper, wood, and brass, styled in a rustic farmhouse aesthetic. The body employs seamed construction rising from a flared round foot, accompanied by a gooseneck spout, a lid with an acorn finial, and a side handle with a heart-shaped mounting plate. A little play exists in the turned mahogany handle, while the brass finial sits atop the lid and the entire exterior displays a polished copper finish. Measuring 26 cm high, 32 cm wide, and 21 cm deep, the vessel serves as a display piece for a kitchen island or traditional period kitchen.

Georgian coffee pots, produced during the 18th and early 19th centuries, typically feature a flared base, a curved gooseneck spout, and a turned wooden side handle designed to protect the users hand from heat.

These vessels were predominantly crafted from hand-hammered sheet copper, often featuring brass or bronze finials and turned hardwood handles attached using copper rivets or heart-shaped mounting plates.

Authentic pieces usually exhibit hand-dovetailed or brazed seams, visible marks of historic hand-hammering, irregular rivet spacing, and natural surface wear around high-stress areas such as the handle joint and spout base.

Displaying the vessel on open kitchen shelving, a rustic dresser top, or a fireplace mantelpiece adds warm metallic tones and historical texture to both modern country and traditional spaces.

Dust regularly with a soft cloth and avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive polishes that strip the historic patina, applying a light coat of microcrystalline wax to protect against oxidisation.
