We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

FAQs

Traditional Chinese bird-and-flower painting focuses on capturing the vitality and spirit of nature using brush and ink on silk or paper, a genre that gained prominence during the Tang and Song dynasties.

These works typically employ mineral and vegetable pigments applied with fine-tipped brushes onto absorbent surfaces such as silk or Xuan paper, often framed with textile borders.

Authentic pieces generally exhibit characteristic brushwork fluidity, natural pigment aging, and traditional mounting techniques rather than modern mechanical dot-matrix printing.

These artworks pair effectively with neutral walls and understated furnishings, allowing the delicate details and muted tones to serve as a sophisticated focal point.

Preservation requires framing behind UV-protective glass, maintaining stable humidity levels, and hanging the pieces away from direct sunlight to prevent fading.
