This 1944 Omega military-style wristwatch dates from the 1940s Utility period and combines a stainless steel case with a flexible metal bracelet, a glass crystal, and a patinated cream dial. The face displays black Arabic numerals paired with an outer minute track, dark pencil hands, and a blued steel sweep seconds hand, accompanied by the Omega logo and script below the 12 o'clock position. The exterior exhibits a stepped bezel, chamfered lugs, and an original winding crown, alongside visible surface aging and dial patination consistent with its service history. The housing measures 3.8 cm high, 3.1 cm wide, and 1.1 cm deep. Designed for everyday wear, this timepiece suits a gentleman's library, office desk display, or private collection setting where period accessories are kept. The utilitarian construction and segmented metal bracelet lend an authentic mid-century aesthetic suited to traditional display cabinets or horological storage units. The manual wind mechanism operates via the side crown, allowing the watch to function as both a wearable historical accessory and a collectible display piece within a domestic interior.

Military-style watches from the 1940s were produced to meet utilitarian standards for armed forces, featuring high-contrast dials, luminous hands, clear Arabic numerals, and durable stainless steel or plated cases.

Mid-century Omega watches typically featured stainless steel or chrome-plated cases, acrylic crystals, brass movement plates with nickel plating, and leather or flexible metal wristbands.

Authentic pieces display distinct movement calibre numbers, serial numbers engraved on the movement and inside the case back, correct brand typography on the dial, and period-appropriate hand shapes.

A 1940s military-style wristwatch can be worn alongside casual clothing such as denim and knitwear, or paired with tailored suits to introduce a functional, historical element to modern attires.

Mechanical watches require periodic servicing by a professional horologist every three to five years, protection from water or moisture exposure, and winding at regular intervals to maintain internal lubrication.
