Description

Antique silver Omega pocket watch and chain.

The watch has a stem-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is signed with the Omega name, and it has the serial number 4,095,111 which dates it back to 1912.

The movement is protected by an inner cover which is engraved with the wording, ‘Geo Ric Kells, from his Company Officers, in token of his good services, 2.1.13’.

The watch measures 51mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is silver and there are hallmarks for London (import mark), 1911 together with the early Omega mark and also the SA mark for Selling Agency, watch importers. The case is in good condition, just four “dings” around the bezel. Nice crisp engine turned detail to the hinged case back.

The glass lens has a small chip underneath at the very bottom, not too noticeable.

The dial has a faint hairline running inwards from number 1.

The watch comes with a single albert, with two chains, which is working nicely. The chain measures 21cm long including the T-bar and the clasp, all hallmarked for sterling silver.

The watch and chain come in a vintage presentation box from a Camden Town jeweller, London.

Date of Manufacture

The Vintage Wrist Watch Company has dated this Antique Silver Pocket Watch to the 1910s.

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Founded in Switzerland in 1848, Omega established a reputation for precision manufacturing, mass-producing interchangeable movement parts and developing renowned calibres that revolutionised the watchmaking industry.

These watches typically feature sterling silver or base metal cases, enamel dials with painted numerals, and intricate mechanical brass movements driven by a mainspring and regulated by a balance wheel.

Authenticity is verified by examining the serial numbers on the movement and case against manufacturer records, checking for proper Swiss hallmarks, and inspecting the quality and finishing of the internal movement.

An antique pocket watch can be displayed on a dedicated watch stand, within a glass cloche on a mantelpiece, or framed in a shadow box as a focal point for a study or office.

Keep the mechanism away from moisture and extreme temperatures, have the movement professionally serviced and oiled every few years, and handle the watch carefully to avoid damaging the delicate enamel dial.
