Antique Waltham Appleton Tracy Steam Loco Pocket Watch

Description

Antique Waltham Appleton Tracy steam loco pocket watch.

The watch has a good quality adjusted 15-jewel stem-winding movement, Appleton Tracy grade, model 1883, which is working nicely. The movement has a Breguet hairspring, screw set jewels in gold chatons. The movement is signed with the name Appleton, Tracy & Co, Waltham, Mass. The movement carries the serial number 6,024,697 which dates it back to 1893.

The watch measures 56mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case has a silver overlay and it has the image of an American locomotive to the screw-on case back, picked out with a layer of rose gold. The case is in lovely condition.

The glass lens is in lovely condition.

The signed dial looks good to the naked eye, a couple of short faint hairlines if viewed through a jeweller’s loupe. Blued steel hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and outer red numerals.

The watch comes in a new presentation box.

We are an on-line only business and do not have facilities for callers. Our offices are open from Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.
