Pewter is the tin-based metal that served British and European households, taverns and churches with plates, measures and drinking vessels for centuries, and returned around 1900 as a material for designed art metalwork.
The most expensive pewter ever sold on Sellingantiques was an Irish church flagon by John Heaney of Dublin, in October 2025.
