Antique Qashqai Long Rug with Triple Medallion Design, Circa 1900.

Description

Size: 7ft 9in x 4ft 0in (235 x 123cm).

Antique South West Persian Kashkuli Qashqai rug, with triple medallion design.

Circa 1880.

The three medallions are surrounded by a field with a large scale herati design on a madder red ground, the upper and lower medallions are in a clear mid indigo blue. The traditional borders frame the rug well.

The rug is in excellent condition with even wear and good pile. There is some corrosion to the dark browns, especially in the central medallion.

The rug has been hand washed and is ready for use or display. The rug is suitable for normal domestic use. (Please note that there is a small blue ink stain in the outer border on the upper left hand and lower right hand side; this is reflected in the price).
