Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Meiji period metalwork, produced in Japan between 1868 and 1912, is characterised by casting techniques, intricate surface chasing, and realistic high-relief depictions of nature, birds, and flora.

These vessels were typically cast using the lost-wax technique (cire perdue) before metal artisans hand-carved, chased, and patinated the surface to create detailed decorative features.

Authentic pieces generally display heavy weight, naturalistic cast or carved relief motifs, age-consistent surface patination, and occasionally artist signatures or maker seals on the underside.

A bronze vessel functions as a textural accent on a mantlepiece, sideboard, or bookshelf, complementing both traditional dark wood schemes and contemporary minimalist interiors.

Dust regularly with a dry, soft microfibre cloth. Avoid chemical polishers or harsh abrasives, as these strip away the original historical patina; a light application of microcrystalline wax can preserve the metal finish.
