Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Kraak porcelain is a style of Chinese blue-and-white export ceramic produced during the late Ming Dynasty, predominantly during the reign of Emperor Wanli. The term originates from the Dutch description of the Portuguese carracks (criques) that transported these goods to European trade markets.

Kraak wares were crafted from kaolin clay, formed in moulds, and painted with cobalt blue oxide decoration under a clear glaze before firing at high temperatures. The production process featured painted compartment panels along the rim enclosing stylized botanical and auspicious motifs.

Authentic pieces feature thin-potted porcelain, radial panel borders with flower sprays or auspicious symbols, and radiant cobalt blue underglaze tones. Additional physical markers include kiln sand adhesion on the foot rim, radial chatter marks on the underside, and a foliated rim edge.

Display the plate upright on a clear acrylic or wooden stand upon a sideboard, or secure it in a curated wall grouping alongside other traditional blue-and-white ceramics to contrast against warm timber or contemporary matte backgrounds.

Clean gently using lukewarm water and a mild dishwashing liquid applied with a soft cloth. Avoid abrasive scrubbing pads, harsh chemical cleaners, or submersion in hot water to prevent damage to glaze surfaces and existing hairline stress fractures.
