Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Dagestan prayer rugs originate from the north-eastern Caucasus region, characterised by an architectural arch motif known as a mihrab and dense geometric or repeating boteh patterns woven into the central field.

These rugs are hand-knotted using hand-spun wool for both the pile and warp/weft foundation, coloured with natural vegetable dyes to create enduring tones.

Authentic period examples feature all-wool construction, hand-tied knots, subtle colour variations known as abrash, and traditional geometric border designs rather than modern synthetic dyes or machine finishing.

A hand-knotted tribal rug works as a grounding accent on polished timber floors, layered over a larger neutral natural-fibre rug, or displayed as a wall hanging.

Vacuum regularly on low suction without a rotating beater bar, rotate periodically to ensure balanced wear, clean liquid spills immediately with cold water, and use a professional specialist for periodic washing.
