Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Georgian copper cookware dates from the eighteenth to early nineteenth centuries and is distinguished by thick, heavy-gauge metal construction designed to withstand open hearth and range cooking. Pieces typically feature hand-hammered finishes, dovetail seams, and robust cast iron or brass handles secured with heavy copper rivets.

These vessels were hand-hammered from pure sheet copper for superior thermal conductivity. Handles were forged from cast iron or cast in brass, while interior surfaces were coated with a thin layer of tin to prevent acidic chemical reactions between food and copper.

Authentic period pieces exhibit considerable weight due to heavy-gauge metal, visible hand-brazed or dovetailed seams around the base and sides, irregularly spaced hand-hammered markings, and maker or owner stamps impressed directly into the copper or handle.

Large copper saucepans serve as functional decorative focal points when displayed on open kitchen shelving, positioned on a central kitchen island, hung from a ceiling-mounted rack, or placed within a rustic fireplace alcove.

To preserve the historical patina, copper surfaces should be dusted with a soft cloth and cleaned using mild soap and water rather than harsh chemical abrasives. If intended for active food preparation, historic tin linings must be evaluated and professionally re-tinned where worn.
