Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Popular during the late Victorian and Edwardian periods, an inlaid rosewood display sideboard combines closed storage, open shelving, glazed display compartments, and mirrored back panels to showcase tableware, glassware, and decorative objects.

These pieces typically features a mahogany or pine secondary timber framework overlaid with dark rosewood veneer, decorated with intricate boxwood or bone marquetry inlay, bevelled mirror glass panels, and solid brass drawer handles.

Authentic period pieces exhibit hand-cut dovetail joints on drawers, genuine hand-cut timber marquetry rather than printed patterns, minor foxing on original mirrors, and turned spindle work typical of late 19th-century cabinetmaking.

Position the piece against a contemporary neutral or rich jewel-toned wall in a dining room, hallway, or living room, pairing its dark wood finish with understated modern ceramics or structured glassware to balance the historical ornamentation.

Dust regularly using a dry microfibre cloth and apply beeswax sparingly once or twice a year, ensuring the piece is positioned away from direct sunlight and heat sources to prevent the rosewood veneer from lifting or cracking.
