A magnificent, complex and intricate pattern on this Sivas carpet from the early 20th century.  A stripe design diamond medallion of pale green, blues and yellows in the centre are flanked either side with exquisite detailed leaves scrolling along with subtle flowers at the end.  With a muted gentle pink central motif and light blues, the whole colour palette is so pretty.  The four ivory corners with fine flowers finish the central area, yellow and pink minor borders work well with the deep blue tones in the main border design.With a cotton foundation it allows for a finer weave compared to other Turkish carpets such as Ushak.
