Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Sheraton style furniture, originating in late 18th-century England, is defined by neoclassical proportions, light construction, straight lines, tapered legs, and subtle decorative elements such as refined veneers and marquetry.

These pieces were predominantly crafted from solid mahogany or mahogany veneers, often incorporating secondary woods such as oak or pine for drawer linings, alongside cast brass hardware and castors.

Authentic pieces feature hand-cut dovetail joints, oak or pine secondary drawer timbers, hand-planed back panels, and original brass fittings exhibiting subtle historical wear and patination.

A kneehole desk functions exceptionally well as a compact home office writing desk or a bedroom dressing table, paired alongside contemporary seating and minimalistic decorative accessories to create a balanced scheme.

Keep the wood away from direct sunlight and artificial heat sources to prevent shrinkage or warping, dust regularly with a soft dry cloth, and apply a natural beeswax polish occasionally to nourish the finish.
