Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Yuruk rugs are hand-woven tribal textiles created by the nomadic Yoruk people of Anatolia, Turkey. They are characterized by geometric patterns, vibrant natural dyes, and a thick, durable wool pile construction.

Traditional Yuruk rugs are constructed entirely from hand-spun wool for both the pile and the foundation (warp and weft). The wool is dyed using natural plant and mineral sources to achieve long-lasting, variegated hues.

Authentic Yuruk rugs feature a soft, glossy wool pile with symmetrical double knots (Ghiordes knots), irregular colour variations known as abrash, and traditional Anatolian geometric iconography such as hook motifs and diamond medallions.

An antique tribal rug can be placed on natural timber or flagstone flooring to add warmth and geometric pattern. It can also be layered over a larger neutral jute or sisal carpet to define a specific area within a room.

Vacuum the rug regularly without a rotating brush bar to avoid pulling the fibers. Clean spills immediately by blotting with a damp cloth, and use a professional specialist for periodic deep cleaning.
