Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A Victorian Scots pine dresser is a two-part storage cabinet crafted during the nineteenth century using Scots pine wood. Typically used in country kitchens, it combines an upper open-shelved rack for displaying crockery with a lower base comprising drawers and cupboard space.

These dressers were constructed primarily from solid native pine timber, often held together with hand-cut dovetail drawer joints and mortise-and-tenon framing. Original examples feature wooden drawer knobs, tongue-and-groove backboards, and simple iron or brass hardware.

Authentic nineteenth-century dressers display period construction markers such as hand-sawn wood marks on the back panels, uneven dovetail joints, and natural timber shrinkage over time. Patina, historical wear around handles, and original turnings also indicate genuine age.

A pine dresser can be styled in modern spaces by curating the open shelves with minimalist ceramics, neutral stoneware, or glass cookware. Pairing natural wood tones with contemporary wall colours creates balanced contrast in dining areas or kitchens.

Clean the wood using a slightly damp microfibre cloth to remove dust, avoiding harsh chemical cleaners. Periodic applications of beeswax polish will protect the timber finish and maintain the natural lustre of the wood grain.
