A particularly lovely portrait of a young woman in an exceptionally attractive cap with lace and ribbon trimming. Sophia Pember was the daughter of Francis and Mary Pember of Norton Cannon, Herefordshire. The miniature was painted by Mrs Hubbard of Crayford, Kent in 1831 when Sophia was aged 24. Framed in ebonised wood with an original bronze bevel and ivy leaf hanging ring.The information (as above) on the back is original indicating that the portrait has been untouched since 1831. This adds even greater charm to the miniature. Condition: The painting, which is under glass, is in good condition - no chips or cracks.
