Gertrude Antiques has dated this piece to the 1800s.
Sophia Pember was the daughter of Francis and Mary Pember of Norton Cannon, Herefordshire. The miniature was painted by Mrs Hubbard of Crayford, Kent in 1831 when Sophia was aged 24. Framed in ebonised wood with an original bronze bevel and ivy leaf hanging ring.
This adds even greater charm to the miniature.

Condition: The painting, which is under glass, is in good condition - no chips or cracks. There is wear to the original ebonised frame around the oval centre as visible in the photo.
