Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Gendje runners originate from the Elisabethpol region in the southern Caucasus, crafted during the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. They are recognized by their narrow proportions, rich colour palettes, and bold geometric patterns, particularly diagonal bands and latch-hook motifs.

Traditional Gendje carpets feature a wool pile hand-knotted onto a wool warp and weft foundation. The wool was locally sourced and hand-dyed using plant-based and mineral pigments, creating rich hues and natural colour variations across the weave.

Authentic Gendje rugs display long, narrow runner dimensions with steep diagonal striped fields or repeating polygonal medallions. They feature hand-spun wool foundations, slight asymmetrical hand-weaving variations, and natural abrash tonal shifts.

A hand-knotted Caucasian runner introduces texture, pattern, and historical depth to long, narrow spaces such as hallways, galleys, or entryways. Combining the geometric textile with neutral flooring and contemporary architectural elements creates a balanced scheme.

Vacuum the carpet regularly using a low-suction setting without a rotating brush to protect the wool pile. Professional spot cleaning or dry hand-washing by a specialist textile restorer is recommended to safeguard the natural dyes and structural foundation.
