Description

The Shekarlu are a subtribe of the famous Qashqai Confederation that have lived in South Persia for centuries. Shekarlu rugs are easily identified by the sawtooth leaves and latch hook palmettes seen in the field, and the polygons in the border. However, it is rare to find one in this size. It has excellent wool quality and is well drawn. The dyes are all natural and have a wonderful patina to them. The overall condition is very good, although there are some old repairs which have faded. This is one of those rare rugs which is both highly decorative and collectible at the same time. Professionally cleaned.
