Agra Carpet, 2.93m X 1.67m (9'8" X 5'5"), Circa 1890

This unusual antique carpet has a classical repeating ''Herati'' pattern, but in a striking colour combination of sea green and burgundy which one only sees in Agra carpets. There is quite a lot of abrash in the colour which makes the piece very visually dynamic. Note that the design changes in the border, but the colour combination remains the same, highly unusual and quite elegant. The high pile gives the carpet a very impressionistic feeling. Very decorative. Note too the great size.. Professionally cleaned and ready for immediate use.
