Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Luri rugs were traditionally hand-knotted by the nomadic Luri people inhabiting South-Western Persia. Their designs typically feature bold geometric shapes, stylized flora, and repeating shield or diamond motifs crafted using traditional weaving techniques passed down through generations.

These runners are constructed with hand-spun wool pile woven onto a wool or cotton foundation. Hand-knotted using natural, vegetable-based dyes, Luri textiles are recognised for their durable structure and rich, saturated colour palettes.

Authentic pieces exhibit slight irregularities in tension and pattern symmetry due to tribal loom construction. Look for natural dye variation (abrash), soft hand-spun wool texture, and genuine age-related abrash and pile wear rather than synthetic distressing.

A tribal runner introduces visual warmth, texture, and historical contrast to minimalist or modern hallways. Placing a long geometric runner in corridors or foyers helps ground dark wood or light stone flooring while dampening sound.

Vacuum regularly using a suction-only setting without a rotating beater bar to protect the wool pile. Position a quality rug underlay beneath it to prevent slipping, rotate periodically to ensure even wear, and consult a specialist for professional cleaning.
