Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Kashan rugs originate from the city of Kashan in central Persia, known for producing textiles with high knotting density and balanced floral patterns. Typically featuring a central medallion surrounded by arabesques and framed by detailed borders, these carpets reflect centuries of Persian weaving tradition.

Authentic Kashan rugs are woven using wool, often kork wool harvested from the neck area of sheep, on a durable cotton warp and weft foundation. The asymmetrical Persian knot is employed to achieve detailed decorative motifs and structural longevity.

Authentic pieces exhibit hand-knotted irregularities on the reverse, a soft surface texture from kork wool, and high knot density. Design traits include a distinguished central medallion, corner spandrels, and multi-layered border bands featuring lotus flowers or palmettes.

A Kashan rug serves as an anchoring visual element in a living area, dining room, or study, complementing both dark wood furniture and modern interior schemes. Placing understated furniture atop the patterned field allows the central medallion and intricate border work to stand out.

Regular suction vacuuming without a rotating beater bar removes loose dust without damaging wool fibres. Professional rug cleaning is recommended every few years, along with periodic rotation to ensure even wear and light exposure.
