Description

William Thornley was a British Artist 1858-1898 he was a painter of costal scenes and landscapes. Both of these paintings are in the original guilt frames which are in good quality. The first oil painting ‘Moonlight on the Thames near ERITH’ is of people on the shore tending to sailing boats, gathering around a fire, with a full moon in background reflecting in the water. The second oil painting ‘After a Gale near Scarborough’ is of a gathering of people on the beach with a sailing ship nearby by, close to the shore. Further sailing ships on the horizon.
