Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Produced during the reign of King William IV from 1830 to 1837, this style represents a transition between Regency proportions and early Victorian design. It features rich timbers such as rosewood and mahogany, bold carved turnings, and classical architectural motifs.

These cabinets feature solid or veneered rosewood frames combined with inlaid marble surfaces incorporating various coloured mineral specimens. Internal framing typically utilises oak or pine, fitted with glass panels and brass hardware.

Authentic pieces exhibit heavy spiral or barley-twist columns, deeply figured rosewood veneers, and hand-cut joinery. Look for original brass lock mechanisms, hand-carved detailing, and historic age-related wear on interior surfaces.

Position the cabinet against a neutral wall to emphasize the dark wood grain and detailed marble work. Pair the piece with modern ceramic vessels or simple table lamps to create a balanced contrast between historical craft and contemporary design.

Dust the timber framework with a dry microfibre cloth and apply beeswax occasionally to protect the veneer finish. Clean the marble top using a dedicated pH-neutral stone cleaner, wiping away liquids immediately to prevent absorption or etching.
