Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Dosemealti rugs originate from the Antalya region of southwestern Turkey, crafted by nomadic and semi-nomadic weavers. They are recognised for their geometric motifs, rich indigo blue fields, madder red borders, and traditional Anatolian tribal symbolism.

These rugs are hand-knotted using locally sourced hand-spun wool for both the pile and the warp and weft foundation. Traditional weavers used natural vegetable dyes to achieve deep navy blue, madder red, and cream tones.

Authenticity can be verified by inspecting the back of the rug for irregular hand-tied double knots and natural colour variations known as abrash. Authentic early 20th-century examples display soft, hand-spun wool and traditional geometric latch-hook motifs.

A tribal wool rug introduces texture and historical contrast when placed beneath neutral furniture or alongside natural timber. The deep blue and red tones pair effectively with contemporary minimalist, dark academia, or rustic interiors.

Vacuum gently without a rotating brush bar to protect the hand-knotted pile, and rotate the rug periodically to ensure even wear. Clean spills immediately with a dry cloth and consult professional rug cleaning specialists for washing.
