An excellent quality George III mahogany bureau-bookcase.

A beautiful item, still very relevant for modern day use.
Having four adjustable shelves to the left side and three adjustable shelves to the right side. Each door has the origianl working lock and key.

The bureau section has the original working lock and key, with a fall-front which opens to reveal a fitted interior, with an arrangement of twelve drawers of varying sizes, flanking four central pigeon holes. Having an inset red leather writing surface. Over a chest of four graduating oak lined drawers, with original locks, and escutcheons. The handles are replacements, but are age and stylistically correct.

Such clever design and great craftsmanship from the Georgian era, a bookcase, a desk and a chest of drawers all in one piece.
Lovely patination and warmth to the mahogany.
Standing on bracket feet.
The top section can be removed from the base section.

In excellent antique condition.
Very solid sturdy and strong.
