Strictly Vetted Dealers

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

This miniature chest of drawers follows the Queen Anne style and dates to 1910, bringing traditional English country house character to compact spaces. Constructed from walnut with a warm brown burr walnut veneer, the piece has an original patina, cabriole feet, and teardrop brass handles fitted to a two over two drawer configuration. The visible wood grain shows prominent figuring across the front drawers and top surface, complemented by dark cast metal hardware. Measuring 32 cm high, 22 cm wide, and 16 cm deep, the compact item suits display on a desk, sideboard, or accent table within a living room, hallway, or study. The surface offers a flat display area while the small drawers provide storage for trinkets or desk accessories. The sturdy proportions and turned foot design ground the mini chest securely on any flat display surface.

FAQs

Miniature chests of drawers were historically crafted as salesman samples, apprentice pieces to demonstrate woodworking mastery, or scale furniture designed for dollhouses and desktop storage.

These pieces typically feature figured walnut veneers over solid timber frames, hand-cut dovetail drawer joints, and brass drop or loop handles.

Authentic examples exhibit genuine wear patterns on drawer runners, period-correct joinery, original patinated metal hardware, and natural timber shrinkage consistent with age.

A miniature chest serves as functional storage for jewellery or desk accessories when styled on a sideboard, console table, or deep window sill to add historical character to modern spaces.

Maintain the surface by dusting with a soft dry cloth, applying high-grade natural beeswax sparingly along the wood grain, and keeping the item away from direct heat sources and sunlight.
