This very handsome oak bureau has a panelled fall-front, with cross-banded frieze, over two short over two long graduating drawers, also with cross-banding to each drawer, with applied decorative moulded drawer dividers. With the original brass split pin handles. All original locks and escutcheons.
The fall-front opens to reveal a fitted interior of superior quality, with an arrangement of several pigeon hole compartments, over 10 drawers of varying sizes, having a most charming central cupboard door, with delightful marquetry inlay depicting a Roman warrior.
Below the door is a concealed well with covering slide.

The sides of the bureau are panelled
The colour is rich and warm, with lovely figuring to the oak.
The bureau is exceptionally heavy and solid.
Standing on bracket shaped feet.
The condition is very good, having general signs of use consistent with age. Lovely warm patina.
