The doors open to reveal three adjustable shelves for books or displaying. With brass bolt locks to the left door, and working lock and key to the right door.

The lower bureau section has a fall-front, with pretty satin-wood inlay, with a classical shell motif and cross banded freize. The fall-front opens to reveal a fitted interior, which consists of several pigeon hole compartments, having a charming small central door with feather banded inlay, with lock and key.

Below are three long cross-banded frieze drawers, with elegant swan-neck handles. Each drawer has all original locks and escutcheons present and are oak-lined.
The bureau has a lovely rich colour and warm patina, which has been freshly bees-waxed and polished.

Standing on bracket shaped feet.
The top section can be removed from the base section.
In very good original condition, having general expected signs of use, commensurate with age. Very minor knocks and bumps.
