Description**
This impressive Georgian bureau bookcase is constructed principally in richly figured mahogany, displaying an attractive warm colour and historic patina.
The upper section incorporates a projecting dentil-moulded cornice above two shaped mirror-panelled doors, each surrounded by decorative gilt borders.

The interior provides shelving, pigeonholes and small drawers, offering practical storage for books, correspondence and personal possessions.
Beneath, the substantial fall-front opens to reveal a fitted writing interior, arranged with numerous pigeonholes and small drawers surrounding a central enclosed cupboard with contrasting inlaid decoration.

The lower section incorporates two short drawers over three long graduated drawers, retaining traditional brass swan-neck handles and standing on shaped bracket feet.
A particularly handsome example of 18th-century English cabinetmaking, offering the elegance, practical storage and architectural presence sought after in fine Georgian furniture.
