Description

Antique walnut double wardrobe, dating from around the turn of the 20th century, a handsome and well-proportioned piece of excellent quality, showcasing fine craftsmanship throughout.

It has a pair of doors, the left set with a bevelled mirror plate and the right with a fielded panel, each framed by moulded edges with notched corners and fitted with a lock. Inside there is a full-width hanging rail with a row of coat hooks to the back, and below the doors sits a single long drawer fitted with brass drop handles on circular backplates.

It is crowned by a deep moulded cornice with a crisp dentil frieze and stands on a moulded plinth raised on turned bun feet. The interior is lined with walnut boards, a mark of real quality.

The walnut displays a beautifully figured grain and a warm, rich colour with a lovely aged patina.

Comes apart in sections for easy delivery and access. Presented in good condition, a very desirable antique wardrobe and a perfect addition to any bedroom.
