This George III small chest of drawers originates from the 18th century, presenting a classic English country house aesthetic. The warm brown timber features a polished finish, complemented by solid bracket feet, brass swan-neck handles, and matching keyhole escutcheons across four graduated oak-lined drawers. Clean horizontal mouldings frame the drawer fronts and top surface, while visible grain patterns and fine aged patination mark the exterior timber surfaces. Measuring 83 cm high, 88 cm wide, and 47 cm deep, the compact dimensions suit placement in a hallway, bedroom, or living room as a functional storage cabinet for clothes or linens, or beneath a mirror or artwork in a traditional interior setting.

Produced during the reign of King George III from 1760 to 1820, these pieces are defined by balanced proportions, fine mahogany craftsmanship, straight or bow-front silhouettes, and functional brass drop handles.

High-grade dense mahogany was favoured for the exterior carcass and drawer fronts, while pine or oak served as secondary timber for drawer linings and back panels, joined with hand-cut dovetails.

Authentic pieces feature hand-sawn drawer linings, hand-cut dovetail joinery, original cast brass hardware secured with hand-threaded nuts, and minor age-related shrinkage to the solid timber panels.

Position the piece as focal storage within a hallway, bedroom, or living space, balancing its rich timber tones against modern neutral paint work and minimalist decorative objects.

Apply a high-quality beeswax polish twice a year, dust regularly with a clean lint-free cloth, and maintain stable humidity levels away from direct heat sources to prevent timber movement.
