We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

This nineteenth-century Victorian copper samovar exhibits an English Country House style with mixed metal construction in copper, brass, and tin. The top-down view shows a wide outer rim with a crimped, fluted moulding, a central vertical chimney tube, and four small star-shaped vent perforations set into the internal metal plate. Two small metal knobs are positioned near the inner rim alongside signs of age, including surface wear and oxidation on the internal metal components. The piece works well placed on a sideboard top in a dining room or living space for decorative display. Measuring dimensions are not given, the object provides a compact display footprint suitable for traditional interior surfaces. The warm metallic tones of the brass and copper surfaces integrate easily into period or transitional interior schemes as a sculptural accent or decorative container.

A samovar is a heated metal container traditionally used to boil water for tea, originating in Eastern Europe and widely adopted across Victorian Britain as a formal hot water urn.

They were typically crafted from hand-hammered copper and cast brass fittings, featuring a central vertical chimney for holding charcoal and a tinned interior to prevent oxidation.

Authentic pieces display hand-riveted seams, heavy cast handles, central heating tubes, and occasional Victorian maker stamps or registry marks along the rim or base.

Position the piece as a focal decorative object on a dining sideboard, kitchen island, or console table to introduce historic metalwork textures into modern spaces.

Dust regularly with a soft cloth and polish the copper exterior using a non-abrasive metal cleaner, keeping the interior clean and completely dry to prevent surface tarnish.
