An Impressive George III Style Fire Grate, Late 19th Century

Description

A really striking and well cast fire grate. The brass double handled urn finials at the front are made in two sections and stand 19.5cm (nearly 8") tall.

Made in a fusion of classical styles, principally neo-classical, Robert Adam inspired elements, with Palladian shell and Vitruvian scroll motifs. This would look particularly good in a Georgian interior, however it has a strong enough look to transfer to Victorian or perhaps even a pared down modern home, and much in between.

Condition: One urn support sits slightly flatter than the other. Some losses to iron backplate, lacking internal grill, see images
