Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Originating from the Malayer region in western Iran, Jozan rugs are closely related to Sarouk weaving traditions. They typically feature fine hand-knotting, high-grade wool, a deep navy or red field, and intricate central floral medallions framed by structured spandrels and floral borders.

These rugs were hand-knotted using hand-spun wool pile woven onto a durable cotton warp and weft foundation. Natural vegetable dyes derived from plants, roots, and minerals provided deep tones such as indigo blue, madder red, and muted ivory.

Authentic pieces display slight asymmetrical variations in the hand-woven knotting, natural colour abrash or shading, and a soft, flexible reverse side showing clear foundation threads. The weave density is consistently fine, with the back mirroring the front pattern.

An antique Persian rug serves as a grounding focal point in contemporary or classic spaces, anchoring minimalist furniture or traditional wooden seating. The dark navy and terracotta red palette creates a balanced contrast against light neutral flooring and clean architectural lines.

Vacuum regularly on a low setting without a rotating brush bar to prevent fibre damage, and rotate the rug annually to balance light exposure and tread wear. Promptly blot liquid spills with a clean dry cloth, and seek specialist professional cleaning when deeper maintenance is required.
