Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Produced during the reigns of King George I through IV (17141830), Georgian chests of drawers typically feature symmetrical proportions, rich mahogany timber, dovetail drawer construction, and classic hardware such as brass swan-neck handles.

Primary timbers included solid and veneered mahogany, often paired with pine or oak secondary linings. Construction relied on hand-cut dovetail joints, oak dustboards between drawers, and hand-carved bracket feet or turned legs.

Authentic pieces feature hand-sawn secondary timber on the reverse and drawer bases, slight irregularities in the hand-cut dovetails, original iron key locks, and age-appropriate wear around the drawer runners and brass backplates.

Pair the wooden chest with contemporary art mounted above, a minimalist ceramic lamp, or a modern framed mirror to create a balanced juxtaposition between historical joinery and contemporary lines.

Apply a clear beeswax polish twice annually along the direction of the wood grain, position the piece away from direct heat sources and sunlight, and buff the original brass fittings with a soft dry cloth.
