Antique Turkish Kirsehir Prayer Rug. 228cm X 142cm.

Description

Central anatolia, late 19th century.

Large prayer rug,dated four times to top end 1306 ? Arabic date in reverse equates to 1888/1889 ah. Judging from the overall look,weave and dyes I have no reason to doubt the late 19th century date on this rug.

Has a couple of small holes left side border,bite out of top end fringe,some corrosion to brown and minor wear to the blood red field,all imaged.

Having said that I have priced it very cheaply indeed.

7 foot 6 inches by 4 foot 8 inches. 228cm X 142cm. At widest points. Minor fringes to top end not measured in size. All wool construction.
