Description

A really interesting 17th century Delft charger with an unusual animal in centre which I think this is a hare This piece still rings when tapped indicating no cracks. It has one small chip in the front which appears to be a firing chip. Similarily, the chipping on the middle rim on the reverse has always been there as it is glazed over.

This is a rare survivor for such a large charger.

Measurements: 34 cm wide

Delftware is a form of earthenware decorated with a white tin glaze, developed in the Netherlands during the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries.
