Regency Mahogany Gentleman’s Dressing Chest

A fine Regency mahogany gentleman’s dressing chest, with a gently bowed front and attractive figured mahogany throughout.

The wide upper drawer opens to reveal a fitted dressing interior with a hinged mirror, divided compartments and removable trays. Below, the chest is arranged around a central kneehole, with three drawers to the right and a further drawer above a curved cupboard to the left. The cupboard opens to reveal a fitted shelf.

The drawer fronts are decorated with ebony line inlay and fitted with brass lion-mask ring handles, while the upper drawer retains a decorative brass key escutcheon. Raised on turned bun feet.

A handsome and practical piece of Regency furniture, offering excellent storage and suitable for use as a dressing table, writing desk or compact pedestal desk.
